Rhoed nef a daear beraidd glod

1-16;  1,3,(16).
(Anfeidroldeb Duw)
Rhoed nef a daear beraidd glod
  I'r Duwdod gwynfydedig;
Y dilys ogoneddus Naf,
  Goruchaf, dyrchafedig.

Nid oes un gyffelybiaeth wan
  O'i ddwyfol anfeidroldeb,
Ond yr eangder dirfaith a
  Diderfyn dragw'ddoldeb.

Anolrheinadwy ydyw Ner,
  Eangder anherfynol;
A llai na dim yw dynol ryw
  Gar bron y Duw anfeidrol.

Anfeidrol yw'r trag'wyddol Fod
  Yn ei briodoliaethau,
Ei ryfeddodau pwy a'u rhif?
  Pwy gyfrif ei holl ddoniau?

Anfeifrol mewn doethineb dda,
  Cyfiawnder a sancteiddrwydd,
Yn erbyn holl angylion nef
  Gosododd ef ynfydrwydd.

Anfeidrol berffaith ydyw barn
  Y cadarn Ior ofnadwy,
Ei lwybrau sydd ar ddwyfol hynt
  Mewn corwynt a rhyferthwy.

Wrth draed y da Iehofah hwn
  Yn noeth ymgrymwn weithion,
Mewn edifeirwch yn y llwch
  A diolchgarwch calon.

O gyrhaedd deall goreu dyn,
  Mae'n dirwyn i ddyfnderoedd;
Ni all angylion tanllyd chwaith
  Fyth wel'd ei faith eithafoedd.

Ond ei ewyllys yn ei air
  A gair yn ddatguddiedig,
A'i ddelw sanctaidd yno sydd
  Bob dydd yn argraffedig.

Anfeidrol yw dirgelwch maith
  Y sanctiaidd berffaith Drindod,
Un Alpha ac Omega mawr
  Y dirfawr ddwyfol hanfod.

Yn iachawdwriaeth dynol ryw
  Anfeidrol yw Iehofah,
A chyda phryfaid gwael y llwch
  Y mae 'i hyfrydwch mwya'.

O! ymostyngiad y Duw mawr
  Sydd dirfawr ac anfeidriol;
I ddyn, i'w achub yn y cnawd,
  Fe ddaeth yn frawd cydraddol.

Ei sanctaidd law ar hyd y dydd
  Y sydd yn estynedig,
At aflan, wael, anufudd ddyn,
  Sydd gyndyn a gwrthnysig.

Clyw ddyn, mae Duw yn galw ar d'ol,
  Yn rasol mewn amynedd;
Os at yr Arglwydd mwyn nis troi,
  Ni ellir ffoi rhag dialedd.

Clodfored nef a daear lawr
  Yr Arglwydd mawr yn wastad,
Ond byth yn fwyaf boed ei fawl
  Am rad anfeidrawl gariad.

Ni all y llu ysprydol llon,
  Sy'n byw gerbron ei wyneb,
Ddim plymio ei ddyfnderodd da
  I oesoedd trag'wyddoldeb.

Dafydd Owen (Dewi Wyn o Eifion) 1784-1841

[Mesur: MS 8787]

(The Immeasurability of God)
Let heaven and earth render sweet praise
  To the blessed Godhead;
The sincere, glorious Chief,
  Supreme, exalted.

There is not the slightest comparison
  With his divine immeasurability,
But the enormous breadth and
  Endless eternity.

Untraceable is the Lord,
  Of endless breadth;
And less than nothing is humankind
  Before the infinite God.

Immeasurable is the eternal Being
  In his attributes,
His wonders who can count?
  Who account for all his gifts?

Immeasurable in good wisdom,
  Righteousness and holiness,
Against all the angels of heaven
  He placed madness.

Immeasurably perfect is the judgment
  Of the terrible, firm Lord,
His paths are on a divine course
  In whirlwind and wonderful.

At the feet of this good Jehovah,
  Naked let us bow henceforth,
In repentance in the dust
  With gratitude of heart.

From the reach of the best wisdom of man,
  He is winding to depths;
Nor can fiery angels either
  Ever see his vast extremities.

But his will in his word
  And word in revelation,
And his holy image is there
  Every day written.

Immeasurable is the vast secrecy
  Of the holy, perfect Trinity,
One great Alpha and Omega
  The enormous divine essence.

In the salvation of human kind
  Immeasurable is Jehovah
And with the base worms of the dust
  Is his greatest delight.

Oh, the condescension of the great God
  I enormous and immeasurable;
For man, to save him in the flesh,
  He came as a brother of like degree.

His holy law all day long
  He is extending,
To unclean, base, disobedient man,
  Who is stubborn and obstinate.

Hear, Man, God is calling after thee,
  Graciously in patience;
If to the gentle Lord thou dost not turn,
  There can be no fleeing from retribution.

Let heaven and earth below praise
  The great Lord constantly,
But forever greater be his praise
  For free, immeasurable love.

Not all the cheerful, spiritual host,
  Who are living before his face,
Can at all plumb his good depths
  For the ages of eternity.
